Is your hair 100% Human Hair?

Yes! Human hair offers the most natural look and feel. It is incredibly soft with a shine and movement that is not easily duplicated in synthetic hair. It is also extremely versatile.  Human Hair can be cut and styled to suit your personal tastes. While it can be a more expensive pick, with the proper care it is also more durable and can last over a year.

 

What is Remy hair?

Remy hair means that all of the cuticles are intact running in the same direction. With all of the cuticles flowing in the same direction from root to tip, there will be almost no tangling or matting.

 

Where does the hair come from?

Most hair manufacturers are started in China and India. Sometimes European. There is rarely such things as Brazilian or Peruvian hair. These are made up terms.

 

How much do hair extensions cost?

Hair Extensions are customized to each individual person and pricing varies depending on length, texture and density of your natural hair. It is always best to book a consultation in order to get an accurate quote.

 

What lengths do you have?

Secret Layers hair extensions come in various lengths ranging from 14" to 24".

 

Can I wear my hair up?

Yes you can wear your hair up. As your hair begins to grow out it gets a little easier to wear up as the bonds will not be so tight near your scalp and they will become more flexible to move around in different directions. With any method of extension there is always a chance you could potentially see a bond. Keep some bobby pins handy in case you need to pop one in to hide one of the bonds.

 

How long will the hair last?

Secret Layers hair will last you 12 plus months with proper care.

How long does the application take?

Tape Extensions take 1-1.5 hrs. Hot Fusion and Cold Fusion Extensions can take 2-2.5 hrs.

 

When do I book my maintenance appointment?

For Tape Extensions you'll want to book your maintenance appointments every 6-8 weeks. For Microbead and Nanolink Extensions maintenance appointments are usually booked every 8-10 weeks. 

 

How long does it take for the hair to come in?

Good news! We are in the process of importing our hair in large quantities so Secret Layers Extensions will always be readily available to all of our clients! In the mean time the hair can be shipped over 1-2 business days.

 

Can I style, cut and colour the hair?

Sure can! As already mentioned, Secret Layers Hair is 100% Remy Human Hair. You can cut, style, and colour your extensions. The only thing we do not ever recommend is lightening them!

Will people be able to tell that I'm wearing extensions?

​If you've come in for a one-on-one consultation, took the advice of the extension specialist and chose a method and colour to match your own hair then they will look totally natural and be virtually undetectable. No one will ever know. It's our little secret!

Will hair extensions damage my natural hair?

When extensions are applied properly there is no reason why they would cause damage to your hair. As long as you are following the aftercare instructions and treating your new mane with tender love and care, your natural tresses will be "A" okay!

 

Will any of my hair extensions fall out?

If you choose to go with Microring, Nanolink or Fusion hair extensions, it's normal to lose about 10 bonds per month. Hold onto your Microring and Nanolink bonds as they are reusable and can be used again at your next maintenance appointment.
